Azovstal defenders resisted for over 80 days in the Mariupol siege, under heavy bombings. They lacked basic supplies such as food, water medicine and weapons. They were sheltering Mariupol citizens in the steel plant. Mariupol defenders became a powerful symbol of Ukrainian resistance and we oppose atrocities committed by Russia against our PoW.
Our PoW are kept in inhumane conditions, often tortured and killed. The brutal killing of the Ukrainian prisoners of war in Olenivka is shocking. The exact number of tortured heroes is unknown. The killing of Ukrainian prisoners of war in Olenivka is a gross violation of the Geneva Conventions. It is also the responsibility of the ICRC, which actually withdrew from the process. The Red Cross does not fulfil its function, it does not have access to the places of detention, where it should be to support our prisoners of war and those illegally deported Ukrainians! The actions of Russia, which kills prisoners of war, are the same as the actions of the Nazis in the concentration camps of the Second World War. This is why Russia can be recognized as a terrorist state. Immediately.
It is not just the military that is defending our country, it is also volunteers, both (Ukrainian armed forces, police, territorial defence, doctors, volunteers rescuers and so on). We stood to show our support for every single Ukrainian, who fights this war.
The UK is one of the country that helped Ukraine the most, together with the US Poland and the Baltic states.
It has contributed not only to military aid but alsdo humanitarian and financial aid. It is estimated that the UK has opened its doors to over 100.000 Ukrainian refugees.
We marched from Marble Arch to the Russian Embassy to support all mothers and women of Ukraine who were tortured raped and killed. And to all those who were forcefully deported to Russia through filtration camps.

Traditional Ukrainian Christmas is celebrated both according to the Gregorian and the Julian calendars. That means we celebrate Christmas Eve on the 24th of December as well as on the 6th of January. Tipically, celebrations end on the 19th of January. 🎄
Vertep is usually performed by children and it includes a portable puppet theatre and drama which represents the nativity scene. The Christmas star is one of its main symbols and represents joy. 🌟
